After two silent years, and a lot of professional load, numerous new information are awaiting, starting
with the M 1884 percussion fuze (and improved texts) on the

, and pictures of the rare "o.Az." version of the Dopp Z 92 on the one of the
'German fuzes'

Two brand new pages on this website, dedicated to the 'Austro-Hongarian fuzes' and to the 'Russian fuzes' . These two nations were only represented before by some few fuzes insufficiently documented in the 'Fusées diverses' page. Having had access to new sources and having observed more models, I found it was time to give them their own section each.
A redesign of the main menu page and of all the other menus :
Several visitors often complained the browsing on my website could be a little awkward. I hope these new versions will make the experience better...2 new Russian time and percussion fuzes added on the 'Other fuses' page : the 22s time and percussion fuze , and the 45s time and percussion fuze .

I have been wanting for a long time to rewrite page on the 'Artillery in WW1' that has been designed too long ago and was not a the good level of information anymore. This is now done.
The english translation of the improved pages of the 'Fusées Françaises' is finished and can be seen on the 'French fuses' page. I took the opportunity to complete and correct information on fuzes even in the French version, particularly for the 24/31 time and percussion family fuzes.
To celebrate November 11, a new French fuze, as famous as simple, the Desmarest fuze for 37 and 47 mm guns Mle 1877 .
Work continues on the translation of reworked
'Fusées Françaises'
section in the corresponding
'French fuses'
page. Both percussion and instantaneous fuzes sub-sections are now complete in both languages. To
celebrate this and Novenber 11, a new
shortened 'I.T.R.' fuze Mle 1918
has been added in both languages !
In the coming weeks I will finish the French fuzes rework translation (time systems) and add some new
fuzes, then I will restart the work on the Surving Guns section, qith so much contributions to
integrate.
FINALLY BACK TO WORK ! I have been kept very busy these 2 last years. Lots of changes and additions to come soon ! As a start I finished reworking the 'Fusées Françaises' section in French language with many additional historical and technical details as well as new fuzes, and currently translating it in the english language corresponding 'French fuses' page

Entire re-writing of the pages dedicated to the
'surviving guns'
: all the machinery behind the scenes is now a MySQL database and PHP programming ! There are still
some things to tune and develop, but the powerful language will mainly help me to update much more
easily the guns lists and descriptions than before.
On your side, dear visitors, little visible differences yet but you will notice on the french language
list of the
'canons survivants classés par nation'
that some records are now accompanied by a small blue elephant picture barely visible, indicating
this gun is now in the new version and linking to a nicer and more precise description file.

Almost one year without major update, sign of an intense professional activity... but here is finally one with several new 'Surviving guns' (including more accurate descriptions of Belgian guns and improved navigation on the surviving guns page), some corrections, and a major re-engineering of the 'Fuzes types' that I had in mind since a long time, with much more information and an much better cosmetics...

Bad weather, good time to keep the pace and add a new and rare GB fuze N°89 on the 'British fuzes' page, and an equally new and rare German Dopp Z98 fuze on the 'German fuzes' page.
Deep revamping of the

section is enriched with a series of rifle grenades and some text improvement.
Pascal Casanova is giving us the great gift of numerous and superb

After a year of silence, due to my movement back from USA to Europe, here is finally a new update that is
just announcing other ones. This edition includes a format change on the
'German fuses'
,
'French fuses'
and
'Belgian fuses'
pages, that allows to add information below every picture, as well as some corrections and
additions in the fuses text description mainly in the German fuses for now. That 'wave' will propagate
to the other pages with the successive updates.
Of course, impossible to produce a new update
without adding some new items. Today is the day of the
'German fuses'
with the new items EKZ16, EKZ16c, LKZ11 Gr, HZ05 (original), as well as the 1918 variant of the
lWMZdr2. Some of these contributions are due to two remakable specialists, Luc MALCHAIR and Pascal
CASANOVA, who will be easily recognized by numerous WW1 afficionados. Many thanks to them !
I didn't felt like announcing a new update for each new gun posted on the
'Surviving guns'
section, but we have now more than 700 guns on it, and still more to come !

also includes a brand new version of the pdf files of the Identification Guide of the Surviving WW1
Guns (in French only) on the same page.
It has been so long : finally two new fuses (EHZ16 and EHZ17) on the 'German fuses' pages thanks to Serge Amand, and a new one (Double effet St Chamond) proposed by Florian garnier on the 'French fuses' page. Meanwhile, the surviving guns collection is still growing, with more than 670 guns in the 'Surviving guns' section.
A bunch of new guns from 'Down Under', in the 'Surviving guns' page. We have now nearly 640 surving guns inventoried all around the world, and... more to come !
More and more guns on the 'Surviving guns' page : 539 as of today. And I began the translation of the files in English : as of today, the US guns, the British guns, the German guns (but for the trench mortars), and the Turkish guns files have been transalted.

The transfer of the surviving WW1 guns collected via the blog is still on, and is preventing me from updating my pages concerning the fuses and the WW1 books, where a lot of new items are queuing ! Find all of the 150 guns, sortedd by nation, type and caliber following the link : 'Canons' . Sorry for our english speaking friends, I will only translate those pages in english when the french speaking database is nearly complete !
A big update, since the 'WW1 surviving guns database' , collected with the '14/18 artillery blog' is finally online. There are only 54 guns online today, although the database includes more than 200 items. The access by place of exposition, as well as the english translation are not yet done, but this will come...

As a consequence I had too little time to include in this site the numerous items waiting to be presented to you. Meanwhile, I added pictures to the page dedicated to the Main types of fuses so that it will be more understandable, as well as a path to that famous blog in the pages links and Artillery of the WW1. Another update will arrive soon.
It was worth the patience : 11 new books (10 French ones and 1 Belgian) in the page Other Witnesses, a new French fuse (Schneider) and 3 Germans (LKZ16, Dopp Z 92 nf, ZsumWM) on the page my fuses selection, and new pictures here and there.
